Welcome to Route 66 the Malahat Commuter bus traveling every weekday between Duncan and Victoria. Over many months traveling together, we have made friends, had lots of laughs, experienced challenging road conditions and have shared many opinions about the service. The goal of this blog is to bring this commuter community together, share our experiences and keep in touch.
Just wanted to say a farewell to all my passengers on the first 66 bus. I have enjoyed all that have come and gone over the last couple of years. I have gone back to the Duncan system for a better shift and better working hours, but am sure that I will be back to the 66 the odd time as a fill-in. Treat your new driver as well as I have been treated, and your ride will be as smooth as ever.
Your friendly demeanor and dedication to your passengers will be missed. Wishing you dry roads and happy riders. Thanks for 2 years of getting us back and forth safe and sound.
Well, I couldn't stay away for too long. Route 99 gave me better hours, and because of the ridership, I couldn't stay away, so here I am on the first 99. Feel free to come along for a ride. I leave the Frayne Rd. stop at the same time as I did on the first 66 (6:18 a.m.). I enjoy the riders that used to ride my bus on 66 on the first 99.
